Our Music video production process
A quick overview of what we do with our Music Video clients
Where do I start?
Every artist has a unique set of standards, style, and wants out of their videos. Music Videos are a calling card that can last for decades in your career. We help our artist friends find a stunning and fun concept that fits their song, and within production budget.
Then what?
Millquas Productions then works with the Artist/Band to figure out time and logistics. We often go location scout and send pictures and video and some ideas of shots that we may have. Our Director picks a Cinematographer and goes over shot ideas with the Gaffer/Lighting Designer, and then talks to a HMUA to arrange any special accommodations.
Whats the day of production like?
Crew will arrive before the artist to set up and stage the scenes to shoot. The Director will take the lead in molding all the visuals with the Artist and the Cinematographer. We will have a shot list that is prepared beforehand so the Artist will know what to expect. Production days can range from 6 -13 hours depending on logistics and budget. We aim for around 8 hours total.
What happens after the shoot?
Production then sends all of the footage to the editor to mix together. Once an initial Rough Cut is established, we will share with the Artist to approve the direction its going then our Director and Editor will continue working on the video to completion.
What happens after the edit is approved?
Once the Artist approves the edit, we will have “picture lock” and the Editor will Color Grade the production.
A deliverable Full Resolution file will be sent to the Artist along with smaller files so you can post on social media platforms.
What about BTS?
Of course we take BTS photos! These will be delivered along with the music video file. We just ask you link back to our socials when posting.
